insect ecology + conservation

Hi!  I am an insect ecologist passionate about bumble bee natural history, community ecology, and population genetics.

Recent past and near future

Based in Madison, WI.  Since January 2021, I have been working toward a PhD in Dr. Claudio Gratton's lab at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.  My dissertation research focuses on whether prairie restorations are an effective method for long-term conservation of bumble bees and how prescribed fire affects them.

Distant past

Texas-born and Wisconsin-raisedI had the privilege of having access to the outdoors from a young age,  where my curiosity about and love for the world around me was fostered.  I earned my B.S. degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2016, where I double majored in Entomology and Environmental Studies.
